The Wilkes University lacrosse team pulled within one goal midway through the first half, but the Knights ended the period on a 7-1 run and rode it to a 17-8 win.
Arcadia jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the first 8:30 of the game, but Jacqueline Harrison and
Amanda Tilley (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) scored back-to-back goals in under two minutes to keep the game close early. The Knights would put in two more before
Erica Sundberg (Mullica Hill, N.J./Kingsway HS) netted Wilkes' third goal of the game at the 8:56 mark. Aracadia would enter the break with a 10-3 lead and outscored the Lady Colonels 7-5 in the second.
The Knights scored two quick goals to opened the second half, but
Amelia Farnham (Guilford, CN/Guilford HS) and Sundberg kept the game close with back-to-back goals within two minutes of each other. Wilkes would not score again until 5:29 to go when Tilley scored her second goal of the game with an assist from Farnham.
While Tilley and Sundberg both put in two goals each, Farnham,
Stephanie Harkins (Larksville, Pa./Holy Redeemer), Jacqueline Harrison and
Carissa Clark (Petersburg, N.J./Ocean City) each put in a goal as well. Between the pipes,
Cassie Cronin (Manchester, NH/Manchester Memorial) stopped 16 shots, including 11 in the second half.
The Lady Colonels fell to 0-7 on the year and will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Messiah at 4 p.m.
