The Wilkes University women's tennis team made quick work of PSU Berks as the Lady Colonels downed the Nittany Lions 9-0, losing a combined seven games in both doubles and singles.

Xiaoqiao Zhang (Zhengzhou City, China/Warren Hills (N.J.)), playing in her final home regular season match, played No. 2 doubles with Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall), where the pair took an 8-0 win. Zhang was unable to play singles due to a prior academic engagement.

Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) and Victoria Bybel (Lancaster/Lancaster Mennonite) made it 2-0 with an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles before Rebekah Shanaman (Richland, PA/ELCO) and Anna Mitchell (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) finished the doubles sweep with an 8-3 at the No. 3 spot.

In singles action, three of the six matches were won 6-0, 6-0, while the other three had a 6-1, 6-0 outcome. Nolt, Bybel and Mitchell all recorded perfect matches, while Katrina Lynn, Michelle Knight (Roaming Shores, OH/Trinity) and Shanaman won their contests while dropping just one game each.

The Lady Colonels will head to Annville on Sunday for their final regular season matchup of the season where they will take on Lebanon Valley at noon before they host the Freedom Conference Team Championships on May 4.
