DOYLESTOWN – The Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams competed in their second meet in three days Saturday, with the men finishing 17th out of 22 teams, and the women coming in 10th out of 18 teams.
Timothy Fisher (Cape May Court House, N.J., Cape May County Technical School) was the top runner for the men, coming in 94th place with a 31:26.06. Not far behind him in 101st place was
Austin Loukas (Windham, Maine, Windham) (31:46.33), while
Matthew Buono (Goshen, N.Y., Goshen) came in 121st (32:32.85).
For the women,
Michelle Wakeley (Endicott, N.Y., Union-Endicott) came in 12th place out of 195 total runners, finishing with a 25:02.53.
Laura Nulton (Laceyville, Elk Lake) was the second best runner for the Lady Colonels, finishing in 78th with a 28:21.91, while
Brittany Werbell (Bartonsville, Pa., Pocono Mountain West) ran a 28:26.80 for 82nd place.
The Wilkes University cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Falcon/Mule Classic at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa. The women's race will begin at 10:15.
