WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS BLANKS LYCOMING, 8-0
 
EDWARDSVILLE  -- The Wilkes women's tennis team blanked Lycoming College 8-0 Saturday afternoon from the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
The Lady Colonels improve to 2-0, while the Warriors drop to 0-3.
 
In #1 doubles, Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) and Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall) defeated Lycoming's Megan Gardner and Dani Nazaruk 8-6.  Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) and partner Katrina Lynn earned a victory over Emily Zangara and Shannon Sheridan 8-2 in the #2 slot.  In #3 doubles, Amanda Holyk (Scranton, PA/Scranton Prep) and Amanda Rossi (Fogelsville, PA/Parkland) cruised past Ellen Phillips and Abbey Smith 8-1.
 
In singles play, Nolt defeated Gardner 6-1, 6-3 in the #1 slot.  In #2 singles, Kristofco beat Zangara 6-0, 6-1.  Donner got by Nazaruk 6-2, 6-0 in the #3 spot.  In the #4 position, Anna Mitchell (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) earned a victory in straight sets over Sheridan 6-0,6-0.  Holyk beat Phillips 6-0, 6-0 to complete singles play.  Rossi's match between Smith was cut short due to weather conditions.
 
Wilkes returns to action on October 13 with a road match at Dickinson College. Mattch time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
