Victoria Bybel (Lancaster/Lancaster Mennonite) for a victory in No. 1 doubles as Wilkes University easily defeated Elizabethtown College in a key Freedom-Commonwealth women's tennis crossover matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Nolt defeated the Blue Jays Alena Marani 6-3, 6-2 while
Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) followed up her Freedom Conference player of the week award with a solid 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 over Madison Pipkin.
Katie Lynn (Berwick, PA/Berwick) won in three sets at No. 4 singles while
Anna Mitchell (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) and
Amanda Holyk (Scranton, PA/Scranton Prep) got wins at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Nolt and Bybel's doubles victory came against Marani and Allison Burkhardt, winning 8-5. Lynn and Mitchell got a second doubles victory for the Lady Colonels, winning 8-3 at No. 3
The Lady Colonels are undefeated at 5-0 on the year and will go on the road to face the Huskies of Division II Bloomsburg University on Tuesday. The match is set to start at 3:30 p.m.
