WILKES-BARRE – Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) was one of four Lady Colonels with a pair of victories on Monday as Wilkes University cruised to an 8-1 win over the University of Scranton in a non-conference women's tennis matchup at the Ralston Athletic Complex courts.

Kristofco defeated Devon Cohen at second singles 6-1, 6-0 before teaming with Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall) for an 8-1 win at second doubles over the Royals Danielle Wylie and Kelly Costello.

Also picking up wins on the doubles side were Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) and Victoria Bybel (Lancaster/Lancaster Mennonite), who paired for an 8-2 win at No. 1 over Cohen and Stephanie Boccuzzi. Anna Mitchell (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) and Michelle Knight (Roaming Shores, OH/Trinity) also won in the third spot, blanking Lindsay Ward and Puneet Dhillon 8-0.

Nolt, the current Freedom Conference Player of the Week, picked up the win at No. 1 singles, beating Boccuzzi 6-1, 6-4. Donner and Shanaman posted easy wins over Costello and Ward and Nos. 4 and 5, blanking both 6-0, 6-0. Mitchell picked up the fifth win on the singles side, defeating Dhillon 6-1, 6-0.

The Lady Colonels, now 11-1 on the year and ranked 19th in the region, are scheduled for a road match on Tuesday at 13th-ranked Haverford College before hosting Misericordia University on Thursday in what will be a battle for the top seed in the upcoming Freedom Conference tournament.
