WILKES CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS RUN AT DICKINSON INVITE; MEN FINISH 19th, WOMEN 21st
 
CARLISLE, PA – The Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Dickinson Invitational Saturday afternoon held on the campus of Dickinson College. The Colonel men finished 19th of 26 teams while the women's squad took 21st place of 24 teams.
 
For the Wilkes men who finished with a team score of 231, Brian Smith (Laporte, PA/Sullivan County) led the way setting a school record with a time of 28:59 for 72nd place. Jordan Siddons (Archbald, PA/Valley View) followed in 76th place at 29:18, while James Chmiola (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) crossed the line at 29:56 for 83rd place. Dan Lykens (90th/30:04) and Forest Hawkins (Ashley, PA/Hanover) (93rd/30:34) rounded out the Colonel participants.
 
The Lady Colonels finished with a team score of 279, two points ahead of cross-town rival King's College (281) for 21st place. Rachel Constant (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame ) led the squad with a time of 28:55 for 92nd place. Christine Klingel (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) finished right behind in 93rd at 29:16 while Kayla Myers (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkipmon) touched the tape at 29:17 for the 94th spot. Sarah Fillman (Limerick, PA/Spring Ford) (97th/29:48) and Becky Gordon (Middlebury, CT/Pomperaug) (100th/31:04) rounded out the Lady Colonel runners.
 
Both teams return to action Saturday, October 13th when they run in the DeSales Invitational starting at 11:00 a.m.
