WILKES FIELD HOCKEY UPENDS DESALES 3-2 WITH THREE SECOND HALF GOALS
 
CENTER VALLEY, PA –The Wilkes University field hockey team scored three second half goals to come back from behind and beat DeSales University 3-2 Saturday in Freedom action.

With the win, the Lady Colonels improve to 7-8 overall and 2-4 in the Freedom while the Bulldogs fall to 3-13 and 0-6 in Freedom play.

After trailing 1-0 at the end of the first half, the Wilkes got on the board at the 40:20 mark when Lauren Pawling (Columbia, PA/Manheim Central) scored off a Kerryn Redcay (Reading, PA/Wilson) assist. Eleven minutes later at the 51:17 Kaitlyn Bevans (Beaver Meadows, PA/Hazleton) served an assist to Shelli Whittington (Elkton, MD/Bohemia Manor) for her first goal of the season. Ashley Hahn (Bangor, PA/Bangor) scored the final goal for the Colonels at the 56:47 mark to build the lead to 3-1. The Lady Colonels gave up another Bulldog score but managed to hold on for the Freedom Conference tally.

Alexis Reed (Greenport, NY/Greenport) had seven stops in goal for Wilkes while Victoria DelToro made 5 saves for the Bulldog.

Wilkes returns to the pitch when they travel to local Misericordia University Tuesday for a Freedom Conference matchup.
