The Colonel men will travel to New York City to face the City College of New York at 5:30 p.m. while the Wilkes women take the short trip up I81 for a familiar test at the University of Scranton at 7:00 p.m. The Wilkes men look to snap a three-game losing skid when they face the Beavers in Manhattan Wednesday night. The game was originally scheduled for 6:00 p.m. but due to CCNY hosting a women's game after the men's, game time was moved ahead to 5:30 p.m. Live stats and live audio for the game will be available at the following links: Live Stats Live Audio (play-by-play: Trevor Turner) Chris Shovlin (Kingston, PA/G.A.R.) leads the Wilkes offensive attack averaging a conference-best 25.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists. Shovlin has reached 20+ points in four of the Colonels five games this season including a career-high 38 points against Lycoming earlier this year. Tyler Breznitsky (Freeland, PA/MMI Prep) has enjoyed a solid start to his senior campaign averaging 12.2 points and 2.5 assists in 25.2 minutes per-game. Bernard Edmonds (Exeter, PA/Wyoming Area) leads the Wilkes frontcourt with 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds shooting over 76.0 percent (19-25) from the field. Wilkes averages 80.8 points per-game while allowing 82.6 points per-contest. CCNY enters the contest with a 3-4 overall mark and is also looking to snap a losing skid dropping its last four contests after starting the year 3-0. Anthony Lewis tops the Beavers offense averaging 15.4 points and 8.4 rebounds. Brandon Reeves follows with 14.4 points and 7.9 rebounds. CCNY averages 65.7 points per-game while yielding 63.9 points per-contest. The Lady Colonels will renew a long-time rivalry Wednesday when they travel to the Long Center for a matchup with Scranton. The two schools used to meet on a regular basis when both competed in the Middle Atlantic and Freedom conferences. But they have not played each other since Scranton left the Freedom to join the then-newly formed Landmark Conference for the 2007-08 season. Wilkes scored its only win in the series that night, 69-46. Elena Stambone (Jessup, PA/Valley View) continues to lead the Lady Colonel offense averaging a conference-best 23.2 points and 5.0 rebounds. The sophomore sharpshooter has already connected on 14 three-pointers, almost half the amount of treys she hit last season. Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) follows averaging 10.5 points and 4.0 rebounds. Kazmerski is quickly approaching the 1,000 points plateau for her career entering tonight's game with 930 career points. Wilkes averages 64.7 points per-game while allowing just 50.2 points per-contest thanks to its full court pressure defense. Scranton enters the contest ranked No. 21 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 and No. 24 in the USA Today coaches' poll. The Lady Royals are off to their first 6-0 start since the 2003-04 season. Scranton is led by the duo of Meredith Mesaris and Erin Boggan. Mesaris tops the team scoring 23.3 points and 5.0 rebounds while Boggan adds 13.5 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds. Scranton averages 65.7 points per-game, while giving up 54.3 points per-contest. Following Wednesday's action, the Wilkes men will travel across town to King's College Friday night to play in the Monarch Classic. Wilkes faces Susquehanna in the opening round game at 6:00 p.m. at Scandlon Gymnasium.
