With the win Wilkes moves to 4-6 on the season, while Marywood drops to 5-5 on the year. Marywood struck first using a three-run homer from Shane Miller in its first at-bats to take a 3-0 lead. Tyler Marino (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) put Wilkes on the board in the bottom of the first with a solo home run to left centerfield cutting the deficit to 3-1 after one inning of play. After Marywood added two more runs in the top of the second, Wilkes put runners on second and third for Carmen Lopresto (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area). Lopresto came through with a double down the left field line scoring both runners to slice the Pacers lead to 5-3. Matt Ruch (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer) followed with an RBI double and Marino added his second hit of the afternoon with a long single to centerfield scoring Ruch to tie the game at 5-5. Dan Pisanchyn (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) led off the bottom of the third for Wilkes with a triple to right-center. Stephen Ruch (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer) followed with an RBI single to give the Colonels their first lead of the contest, 6-5. Marywood used a three-run fourth to take back the advantage, 8-6. The Pacers loaded the bases using two straight singles to plate their runs. A.J. Mihaly (Berwick, PA/Berwick Area) entered in relief to end the rally with back-to-back strikeouts for Wilkes. Tay Sidler (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville Area)'s deep home run to lead-off the fifth brought Wilkes to within one, 8-7. The Colonels would make the full comeback in the bottom of the eighth scoring three runs on three hits in the frame to take a 10-8 lead to the ninth. Matt Ruch (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer)'s RBI double followed by a Nick Craig (Springfield, PA/The Haverford School) RBI single provided all the Wilkes firepower in the inning. Marywood made things interesting in the ninth as Mike Pinelli connected on a solo homer to bring the Pacers to within one, 10-9. A deep flyout to leftfield ended Marywood's hopes for a comeback as Mihaly posted the win on the mound for Wilkes. Marino finished 3-for-4 with three RBI's to lead the Wilkes offense. M. Ruch and Pisanchyn added two hits each. Mihaly went five and two-thirds innings allowing just one run on five hits while striking out seven Pacers.
