12 LADY COLONELS REACH SCORING COLUMN IN 17-0 WIN OVER TRINITY WASHINGTON
 
WASHINGTON, DC – Twelve different Lady Colonels reached the scoring column including four goals from sophomore Olivia Dworak (Dupont, PA/Wyoming Seminary) as visiting Wilkes University posted a 17-0 shutout victory at Trinity Washington University Tuesday.
 
Wilkes moves to 2-0 on the young season while Trinity Washington drops to 0-2 on the year.
 
Wilkes stormed out to a 13-0 lead at the half and never looked back. Keri Meerholz (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) scored the eventual game-winner just thirty seconds into the contest off an assist from Carley Smith (York, PA/Dallastown). Dworak tallied all four of her goals in the first frame pushing the advantage to 8-0 with 16:03 left in the first half.
 
The Lady Colonels added four more strikes in the second half as Samantha Pavalko (Orwigsburg, PA/North Schuylkill), Caitlin Jordan (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall), Brittaney Costigan (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), and Sarah Brozeno each contributed second-half goals.
 
Meerholz finished with two goals and a team-best three assists, while Smith added two goals and one helper. Justine Thimmel (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock) recorded the win in net for Wilkes making three saves throughout.
 
Wilkes held a commanding 31-3 shot advantage, while posting 19 ground balls to Trinity Washington's seven ground balls.
 
Wilkes will remain idle until its home debut Saturday, March 17 when the Lady Colonels host Penn State Abington at 1:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium.
