WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS MOVES TO 5-0 WITH 7-2 WIN OVER BRIDGEWATER

HILTON HEAD, SC – The Wilkes University women's tennis team moved to 5-0 in the spring season with a 7-2 win over Bridgewater College (Va.) Wednesday in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

The Lady Colonels took two of three in doubles play before posting wins in five of six singles flights to earn the victory.

Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) posted a three-set win over Katie Gordon 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 at No.1 singles for Wilkes. Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle), Anna Mitchell (Montclair, NJ/Montclair), Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall), and Ana English each added singles victories all in straight-set matches.

In doubles play, the team of Donner/Kristofco claimed an 8-2 win over Bridgewater's Ally McConaughy/Emily Schweitzer at No. 2, while Mitchell/English grabbed an 8-5 win over Brittany Wilson/Olivia Stone at No. 3.

Wilkes will wrap-up its spring break trip Friday with a match against Landmark Conference member Susquehanna University at 8:15 a.m.
