The Lady Colonels fell 5-4 against Stevenson University before dropping an 8-2 decision against Frostburg State. Following the days games, Wilkes slips to 2-2 on the season. Laykin Hughes (Minersville, PA/Pottsville) led the Wilkes offense against Stevenson finishing 2-for-2 with a home run. Jordan Borger (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Alysha Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) recorded the loss in the circle as Wilkes fought back to tie the game at 4-4 before Stevenson plated the game-winner in the seventh. Jessalyn Paveletz (Hanover Township, PA/Hanover Area) added two hits, while Bixler contributed two hits and two RBI's. Hughes picked up the loss for Wilkes against Frostburg. Kristen Baker (Hunlock Creek, PA/Lake Lehman) belted her first career home run while Bixler added her third long ball of the season in the defeat. Borger added one hit in four at-bats. Wilkes will conclude play Saturday with games against Shenandoah University at 12:00 p.m. and host Salisbury University at 2:00 p.m. Print Friendly Version
