WILKES MEN'S TENNIS BREEZES PAST EASTERN, 9-0

ST. DAVIDS, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win at Eastern University it its Freedom opener Sunday afternoon.

With the win Wilkes moves to 6-2 overall on the year and 1-0 in league matches.

The Colonels cruised to the victory using straight set wins in all six singles flights, while only dropping three points in doubles play.

Alex Makos (Mansfield, PA/Mansfield), Steven Wilson (Bronx, NY/JFK), Zack Telljohann (Atlanta, GA/Westminster), Clarke Freeman (York, PA/Central York), Brandon Helfrich (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia), and Brendon Blachowski (Newtown, PA /Council Rock North) all recorded singles wins for Wilkes. The teams of Freeman/Wilson, Telljohann/Makos, and Helfrich/Blachowski posted the Colonels doubles victories.

Wilkes will continue its Freedom match stretch Wednesday when they host Misericordia University at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
