WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS EDGES MUHLENBERG 5-4 TO STAY PERFECT

MUHLENBERG, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team pushed its winning streak to 15 matches edging host Muhlenberg College 5-4 Wednesday afternoon in a regional matchup.

Wilkes, now ranked 18^th in the latest Atlantic South ITA regional rankings, stands perfect at 15-0 on the season while Muhlenberg drops to 4-10.

Wilkes jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play thanks to wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) and Katie Lynn (Berwick, PA/Berwick) posted an 8-5 win at No. 1 while Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) and Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall) recorded an 8-0 victory in the No. 2 spot.

In singles play, Nolt earned a 6-3, 6-1 win over Nina Sanders at No. 1. Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Sharen Resnikoff at No. 4, while Anna Mitchell (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) secured Wilkes' third victory in singles competition with a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Gabriela Contino at No. 5.

Wilkes will return to play Saturday with a Freedom matchup at Manhattanville College at 1:00 p.m.
