18^TH RANKED WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS BLANK VALIANTS 9-0 TO CLINCH TOP SEED

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The 18^th ranked Wilkes women's tennis team breezed past Manhattanville College 9-0 Saturday clinching the Freedom Conference Tournament's top seed in the process while pushing its unbeaten streak to 16 matches.

Wilkes moves to 16-0 overall and 4-0 in league matches, while Manhattanville drops to 1-7 and 0-4 in Freedom contests.

The Lady Colonels swept doubles play allowing just one point over the three matches. Wilkes then took all six singles flights to record the conference sweep. Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 while Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 3. Amanda Holyk (Scranton, PA/Scranton Prep), Ana English, and Amanda Rossi (Fogelsville, PA/Parkland) posted singles wins as the lady Colonels captured its sixth straight top seed in the upcoming Freedom postseason tournament.

Wilkes will be back in action tomorrow (barring rain) at the University of Scranton for a regional match scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
