WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS ROLLS PAST MARYWOOD, 9-0

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over visiting Marywood University Sunday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

I marked the second straight straight set win for the Lady Colonels after posting a 9-0 victory at Lycoming a day earlier. Wilkes moves to 2-0 on the young season.

Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) moved her overall singles record to 2-0 posting a 6-1, 6-0 win over Kara Hoff at No. 1. Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ/Wall) fell in her first set only to recover for a 3-6, 6-0, 10-3 win at No. 2. Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle), Katie Lynn (Berwick, PA/Berwick), Amanda Holyk (Scranton, PA/Scranton Prep), and Ana English also scored straight set wins for the Lady Colonels in singles play.

In doubles, Wilkes swept all three flights only allowing a combined seven points through the three matches.

Wilkes returns to play Saturday, September 29 when the Lady Colonels compete at the Bloomsburg University Tournament at 8:30 a.m.
