CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Wilkes University cross country teams competed at the DeSales University Invitational Saturday. The Colonel men finished 15^th of 20 teams totaling 452 team points while the Lady Colonels captured 16^th place of 22 teams combining for 499 team points.

Susquehanna University took the men's team title at the 8k race with 46 total points, while Kutztown University clinched the women's 6k race with 50 total points.

Tim Jurkowski (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) led the Wilkes men with a time of 29:08.85 for 99^th place. Matt Buono followed with a time of 30:19.60 for 144^th place. Dan Lykens crossed the line at 30:25.09 (147^th), while Tyler Sutton (Wyalusing, PA/Wyalusing Valley) rounded out the Wilkes scorers at 30:36.51 (151^st).

Forest Hawkins (Ashley, PA/Hanover) (31:48.30/189^th), Martin Tolbert (York, PA/William Penn) (31:52.58/191^st), Josh Reigthler (32:17.74/203^rd), Brett Ward (Enola, PA/East Pennsboro) (33:06.68/224^th), Trevor Kapschull (Lake Ariel, PA/Western Way) (33:39.30/234^th), Evan Witmer (Sunbury, PA/Shikellamy) (34:08.53/241^st), Sam Miller (34:40.82/244^th), Liam Cassidy (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) (34:46.04/245^th), Matt Grimm (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) (35:44.26/255^th), and Kevin Taylor (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) (37:25.76/261^st) all competed for Wilkes in the 276-participant event.

For the Wilkes women, Rachel Quinn (Goshen, NY/Goshen) led the way with a time of 27:48.42 for 107^th place. Sarah Fillman (Limerick, PA/Spring Ford) was the second Wilkes finisher at 27:57.37 in 116^th place. Christine Klingel (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) came in at 28:40.71 for 136^th place, while Melanie Faherty (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) finished at 29:29.59 for 157^th place.

Tracey Hilker (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) (29:30.80/158^th), Rachel Constant (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame ) (30:24.41/182^nd), Devanie Craft (Meadville, PA/Milton-Hershey) (31:46.52/205^th), Christie O'Brien (Goshen, NY/Goshen) (32:26.51/212^th), Cheyenne Barnes (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) (35:01.01/232^nd), and Vanessa Ejiofor (Union, NJ/Union) (38:18.91/242^nd) rounded out the Lady Colonel runners in the 248-participant event.

Both Wilkes squads will return to action next Saturday when they compete at the Gettysburg College Invitational starting at 10:30 a.m.
