WILKES MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES 35TH AT PAUL SHORT INVITATIONAL
BETHLEHEM, PA – The Wilkes University men's cross country teamed finished 35th of 42 teams at the Paul Short Invitational Saturday afternoon held on the campus of Lehigh University. The Colonels recorded 928 points combining for a team time of 2:34.14.
Tyler Sutton (Wyalusing, PA/Wyalusing Valley) led the Wilkes runners with a time of 30:05. Tim Jurkowski (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) followed crossing at 30:06, while Dan Lykens finished with a mark of 30:54. Forest Hawkins (Ashley, PA/Hanover) (31:30), Matt Buono (31:39), Tyler Layton (Endicott, NY/Main Endwell) (32:32), and Josh Reightler (32:57) rounded out the list of Colonel participants in the 333 runner 8k race.
Muhlenberg College captured first place with 131 points and a total time of 2:17.49. Juniata College came in second with 141 points, while Franklin and Marshall rounded out the top three with 188 points.
The women's race was cancelled due to the intense heat that came across the region.
Both teams return to action Saturday running at the DeSales Invitational in Center Valley, Pa. starting at 10:30 a.m.
