Wilkes fell to Misericordia University 66-56 in their conference opener on Wednesday evening. Elena Stambone (Jessup, PA/Valley View) leads the Lady Colonels with 22.0 points per-game. She also leads the team with 16 three-pointers made. Chelsea Brown (Garnet Valley, PA/Garnet Valley) is averaging a double-double from her forward position. She is second on the team averaging 15.5 points and first in rebounds averaging 10.8 per-game. The Lady Colonels are averaging 61.7 points per-game on offense and allowing opponents to score 63.3 points per-game. DeSales enters the contest with a 4-2 overall record and 0-1 Freedom mark after they were defeated by conference foe FDU-Florham 84-49 on Wednesday evening. Sondrine Glovas leads the bulldogs in scoring averaging 18.2 points per-game. Alexiah Grant chips in with 17.2 points per-game and Alex Suh nearly averages a double-double with 12.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per-game. DeSales defeated Wilkes twice last year, 63-60 at the Marts center and 72-54 in Center Valley. The men's game will follow the women's action at 3:00 p.m. as the Colonels look to start conference play at 2-0 and upset the preseason favorite Bulldogs. Wilkes won a thrilling conference opener against Back Mountain rival Misericordia 72-70 in overtime on Wednesday evening. Alec Wizar (Lebanon, PA/Annville Cleona) leads the Colonels scoring 18.0 points per-game while hitting a team-high 24 three-point attempts. Pat Furst (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks West) is averaging 14.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per-game. Wilkes is averaging 75.7 points per-game and allowing opponents to score 71.2 points per-game. The DeSales men are 4-2 overall and 1-0 in Freedom play after defeating FDU-Florham 78-62 on Wednesday evening. Mike Coleman leads the team with 15.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per-game. Paul Pammer averages 11.0 points and 5.7 boards per-game while Cody Deal chips in with 10.5 points and 5.7 boards per-game. DeSales averages 78.8 points per-game on the offensive end while allowing opponents to score 72.0.
