The Lady Colonels are 1-0 and Rutgers-Camden falls to 2-3. Ford started early netting a shot to tie the game at one with 28:22 to play in the first half. After battery mate Carley Smith (York, PA/Dallastown) scored to tie the game at two, the Lady Colonels went on to score the next nine goals to hold an 11-2 advantage with just over ten minutes to play. During that stretch, first-year Tori Kerr (Beacon, NY/Beacon) scored back-to-back goals and Ford and Smith connected on the next two. The trio accounted for 12 of the 13 goals in the first period. Wilkes used ten more tallies in the second half as Smith netted four goals while Kerr recorded three and Ford collected two of her own to seal the non-conference victory. Smith recorded eight goals and an assist while Kerr added six tallies of her own. Madeleine Brownsey (Glenside, PA/St. Basil Academy) added a goal and an assist while Melanie Rivera (Middletown, NY/Middletown) contributed a goal of her own. The seven goals by Ford gives her 108 career goals, surpassing the previous record of 105 held by Brittney Hodnik. Brittaney Costigan (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) earned the win in net, playing all 60 minutes making five stops.
