WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS SCORES 7-2 WIN OVER MISERICORDIA IN FREEDOM OPENER

EDWARDSVILLE – The defending Freedom Conference champion Wilkes women's tennis team began its quest for a seventh straight conference crown with a 7-2 victory over Misericordia University Thursday afternoon in both teams' league opener at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

Wilkes improves to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in conference matches while Misericordia drops to 6-6 overall and 0-1 in league play.

Wilkes garnered wins in all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.

Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central), Katie Lynn (Berwick, PA/Berwick), Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle), and Summer Lentini (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) were all straight set winners in singles play for Wilkes.

Wilkes returns to the court April 6^th with a road matchup at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa. at 12:00 p.m.
