WILKES BASEBALL TOPS PENN STATE HARRISBURG 7-3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Adam Misiura (Springbrook, PA/North Pocono) picked up his first collegiate win as the Wilkes University baseball team bested Penn State Harrisburg Wednesday afternoon at the Cal Ripken Experience.

With the win, the Colonels improve to 5-0 while Penn State Harrisburg falls to 2-5.

Misiura pitched six strong innings, surrendering only three hits while allowing three free passes. He fanned two hitters and allowed two earned runs. Marcus Leaf (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic) and Angelo Trento (Jamesburg, NJ/Jamesburg) pitched three solid innings in relief.

Offensively, Tyler Marino (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) and Bobby Schappell (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the way with three hits each. Schappell tripled and doubled while collecting a team best three RBI's. Scott Skammer (Dallas, PA/Dallas) tripled for one of his two hits while Carmen Lopresto (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) added two singles of his own. A.J. Mihaly (Berwick, PA/Berwick Area) tripled and added an RBI while Skammer swiped two bases.

The Colonels return to action tomorrow when they play Penn State Berks at 12:30 p.m.
