With the win, the Colonels stand at 16-11 overall and 7-9 in league play while the Aggies fall to 16-16 and 4-12 in the league. Delaware Valley struck first, when Jordan Heisler hit a two run home run over the left field fence. The Aggies struck again for single tallies in both, the third and fifth innings. An RBI groundout from Joe Dantas (Reading, PA/Fleetwood) got Wilkes on the board, down 3-1. A solo shot off the bat of Stephen Ruch (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer) in the bottom of the sixth made it a 5-2 game in the Aggies favor. The Aggies scored four in the seventh before the Colonels responded with two in the bottom of the frame. Marcus Leaf (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic) led the inning off with a double and scored on a Scott Skammer (Dallas, PA/Dallas) triple. Skammer then reached home on an RBI groundout from Bobby Schappell (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville). A sacrifice fly in the eigth off the bat of Tyler Marino (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) made it a 9-5 game, but the Aggies added another single tally in the top of the ninth to give them the five run lead. Skammer led off the inning with a walk, after going behind in the count 0-2. Schappell doubled and both runners scored on a Carmen Lopresto (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) single to make it a 10-7 game. A two run blast and second home run of the game from Ruch made it 10-9. Tim Benner (Catawissa, PA/Southern Columbia), Joe Dantas (Reading, PA/Fleetwood), and Marino each hit consecutive singles to load the bases and draw the infield in. Misuira then came to the plate in a pinch hitting fashion, delivering the hard hit two run single back up the middle to give Wilkes their second walk off Freedom win of the season. Skammer reached base five times on the day, going 4-for-4 with a walk. Ruch was for 4-for-5 with three RBI's and two home runs giving him a total of seven on the season. Dantas collected three hits while Schappell, Marino, and Dan Pisanchyn (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) each had two. Leaf earned the win, pitching 2/3 of an inning and not allowing the hit. Jim Calabrese had a no decision, scattering 14 hits in eight innings while striking out three. Chris Kelly garnered the loss, allowing all six runs on seven hits in the ninth. Calabrese, Heisler, and Connor Buhler each had home runs for the Aggies. The two squads will play again tomorrow in a doubleheader in Doylestown, Pa.
