EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's lacrosse team earned their first ever 10-win season and secured the third seed in next week's Freedom playoffs with a 22-15 win over Manhattanville Saturday afternoon.

Three Smith goals, a Melanie Rivera (Middletown, NY/Middletown) strike, and a goal from Kerr and Brownsey gave Wilkes the 12-7 advantage going into the break.

In the second half, the Lady Colonel offense stayed hot and kept the Valiant scoring at bay. Outscoring the Valiants 10-8 in the second half, the Lady Colonels made the most of their opportunities scoring 22 goals in 38 chances, while the Valiants remained strong at draw controls winning 23 to Wilkes' 16.
