Wilkes improves to 10-7 while Scranton falls to 13-8. After trading scoreless frames to start the game, Wilkes garnered three runs in the bottom of the second. Stephen Ruch (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer) and Tyler Marino (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) led off the inning with singles through the left and right sides of the infield. After a Tim Benner (Catawissa, PA/Southern Columbia) sacrifice bunt to move the runners over, Eric Hauer (Wapwallopen, PA/Greater Nanticoke Area) hit an infield single to load the bases. Nick Craig (Springfield, PA/The Haverford School) then singled in a run with an infield hit, before Carmen Lopresto (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) collected two RBI's on a fielder's choice. In the third inning, Joe Dantas (Reading, PA/Fleetwood) led off with a double to deep left center field before being plated on a Ruch single down the left field line. The Royals got a single tally back when they got an RBI single from Zach Dignam. Wilkes responded with a run in the bottom half of the fifth. Joe Dantas (Reading, PA/Fleetwood) reached on a fielder's choice and later scored on a ball hit by Tyler Marino (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers). Scranton garnered a run in the top of the eighth on a Kyle Hamer sacrifice fly to make it a 5-2 ballgame. Adam Misiura (Springbrook, PA/North Pocono) collected the win on the mound, working 1 and 1/3 innings and allowing one run.
