LADY COLONEL TENNIS ADVANCES TO FREEDOM CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 5-0 WIN OVER STEVENSON

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis teamed swept all three doubles matches and captured two singles flights to post a 5-0 win over fourth seeded Stevenson University Wednesday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex. Wilkes advances to its seventh straight Freedom Championchip match on Saturday with the victory.

The Lady Colonels stand 17-2 overall while Stevenson finishes its season with a 5-8 overall record.

After allowing just two games in the three doubles victories, Katie Lynn (Berwick, PA/Berwick) posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 followed by a straight set 6-0, 6-0 victory from No. 6 Amanda Rossi (Fogelsville, PA/Parkland) to clinch the semifinal win.

Wilkes will now face the winner of the other semifinal between King's and Misericordia Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex looking for its seventh straight Freedom crown.
