WILKES CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS FINISH 5TH AT COUGAR CLASSIC
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams both finished in fifth place at the Cougar Classic held on the campus of Misericordia University Saturday afternoon.
The Colonel men took fifth of six teams while the Lady Colonels claimed fifth of seven squads.
Tyler Sutton (Wyalusing, PA/Wyalusing Valley) led the men with a time of 32:01.11 for 24th place. Matt Buono followed crossing the finish line at 32:01.22 for 25th place. Tim Jurkowski (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) came in at 32:01.30 (26th) while Daniel Lykens (Reading, PA/Governor Mifflin) ran a time of 32:01.47 for 27th place.
For the Wilkes women, Sarah Fillman (Limerick, PA/Spring Ford) led all runners with a time of 27:22.72 for 21st place. Christine Klingel (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) ran a time of 27:49.13 (23rd) while Rachel Constant (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame ) came in at 29:18.13 for 27th place.
Both Wilkes teams return to the course next Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven, Pa. to compete at the Lock Haven Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
