WOMEN'S SOCCER DRAWS WITH SUSQUEHANNA 1-1

SELINSGROVE, PA – Wilkes women's soccer let a 1-0 lead slip away in the 89^th minute as Susquehanna was able to force overtime that produced zero goals and ultimately a tie to both teams' records. With the tie Wilkes now sits at 5-2-2 on the season while Susquehanna is 1-6-1.

Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) put the Lady Colonels on the board in the 25^th minute when scored unassisted off of 20 yard shot. The score would remain that way for the rest of the half with Wilkes attempting four shots and Susquehanna zero.

In the second half Wilkes amassed seven shots but were unable to go up 2-0 and on the Crusaders second shot of the game Samantha Zuponic was able to put the ball past goalkeeper Kristy Colangelo (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) to tie the score at 1-1.

In the overtime period the Lady Colonels out shot the Crusaders 5-1 but were unable to score on Rachel Norbuts who ended up making seven saves on the evening.

Wilkes next match will take place on 10/2 when they travel up route 81 to face Scranton in a non-conference battle starting at 7:00 P.M.
