Wilkes falls to 6-8 overall and 1-3 in Freedom play following the defeat. Manhattanville improves to 6-9 overall and evens its conference mark at 2-2 on the year. The host Valiants took a 33-22 lead into the break thanks to 14 first half points from Jack Bramswig. Wizar cashed in 12 of his team-high 17 in the first frame, including a 2-for-3 performance from long range, but Wilkes shot just 25.0 percent (7-for-28) as a team leading to the early deficit. The Manhattanville lead grew to as many as 17 points before the Colonels began their furious comeback attempt. A tip-in from Cameron Hinkel (Millerstown, PA/Greenwood) followed by a three-pointer by Jimmy Bracket brought Wilkes to within eight, 50-42, with 8:14 on the second half clock. Manhattanville pushed the lead back to 12 just four minutes later using scores from Bramswig and Juan Camacho. Steve Stravinski (Pittston, PA/Pittston) canned a jumper from the wing and Hinkel followed with another score inside to bring Wilkes to within six with just over two minutes remaining. A Stravinski layup with :26 left cut it to five, 64-59, as Wilkes began to foul to extend the game. Bramswig hit two free throws followed by one of two from Colin Campbell as the Valiants iced the game at the charity stripe in the final twenty seconds of play. Wizar added five rebounds and two assists all off the bench for Wilkes. Hinkel and Stravinski combined for 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Steve Blish (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) notched ten points on two treys. Bramswig added 22 points including the 1,000th point of his career to lead Manhattanville. Four other Valiants reach double figures as Manhattanville shot 46.2 percent (24-of-52) from the field in the win.
