Quartet from Wilkes Men's Basketball Named Academic All-District® by College Sports Communicators

WILKES-BARRE – Four student-athletes from the Wilkes University men's basketball team have earned the honor of being named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Seniors Jack Argento (Hershey, PA/Hershey) and Colin Ackerman (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township), junior Eli Becker (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra), and sophomore Daniel Santaniello (Roaring Brook Twp., PA/Scranton Prep) all earned the distinction. This is the second year in a row for Argento and Becker being named to the Academic All-District® team, and the first time for Ackerman and Santaniello.

To be chosen to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Team, a student-athlete had to have been at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and must have competed in 90 percent of the games or must have started at least 66 percent of the games for their team.

All four recipients started all 28 games for the Colonels, with Argento and Ackerman earning All-Conference accolades as well. Argento, an accounting and corporate finance double major, earned a 3.88 GPA while averaging 13.5 points per game on the court.

Ackerman, an education and history double major, was also named honorable mention and earned a 3.81 GPA, leading the team with an average of 4.5 assists per game.

Becker matched Argento with 13.5 points per game on the court, the second-most on the team, and earned a 3.71 GPA in the classroom pursuing a degree in business administration.

Santaniello rounds out the group earning Academic All-District® honors in his first year of eligibility. The team's leading three-point shooter with 42 made shots from beyond the arc, Santaniello earned a 3.6 GPA while working towards a degree in accounting.
