WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS CRUISES PAST LYCOMING 9-0

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over non-conference foe Lycoming College Wednesday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

Wilkes improves its dual match record to 4-1 on the season following the victory.

Wilkes recorded singles wins at No. 1, 2 and 3 thanks to the play of Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep), Mariah Wardius (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic) and Julia Baranov (Huntingdon Valley, PA/William Tennent). Croker went 6-1, 6-0 over Shannon Sheridan while Wardius scored a 6-0, 6-2 victory and Baranov a 6-1, 6-0 decision in their respectively matches.

Lycoming forfeited the remaining three flights in singles play.

The duo of Olivia Hewison (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley) and Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) scored the lone doubles win for Wilkes posting an 8-3 decision over Sheridan and Ashley Stover. Lycoming drew forfeits at No. 2 and No. 3 pairs play.

Wilkes hosts Penn College tomorrow (Thursday) at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
