WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS FINISHES DAY TWO OF MAC INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT
 
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team wrapped up day two action at the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Tournament Saturday afternoon.
 
The Lady Colonels saw players advance in all seven singles flights along with pairs from three of four doubles flights.
 
At No. 1 singles, Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep) moved onto the semifinals with a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Jenna Laubach of Eastern. Croker will face Julie Seidel of Alvernia in the semifinals on Sunday.
 
Mariah Wardius (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic) and Anastasia English (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) both advanced to semifinal play Sunday with wins in the quarterfinals. Wardius was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Eastern's Megan Klosterman, while English posted a 1-6, 6-2, 10-5 victory over Alvernia's Jennifer Petrilla.
 
At No. 3 singles, Julia Baranov (Huntingdon Valley, PA/William Tennent) scored a 6-0, 6-1 win over Julia Keppel of King's to reach the semifinals. Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) will play tomorrow in the quarterfinals after receiving a bye as the top seed in the bracket.
 
At No. 4 singles, Claire Parker (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford) and Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland) advanced to the semifinals with straight set wins. Parker was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Nellie Chmil of Misericordia, while Hoffmann was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over DVC's Natalie Hoffman.
 
Alanna Denauski (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville), the top seed at No. 5 singles, advanced to the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Vanessa Wagner of King's. Brittany Stanton (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) also moved onto the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kaitlin Hallabuk of Lycoming.
 
Wilkes saw two players advance to the semifinal round of No. 6 singles as Olivia Hewison (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley) and Dana Schneider (Plains, PA/Coughlin) recorded straight set wins. Hewison was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Brittany Bressler of Misericordia, while Schneider posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Trisha Paul of FDU-Florham.
 
The final day of action will begin Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
