It marks the sixth straight All-American for Wilkes as Kris Krawchuk (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh) finished as the national finalist at 157-pounds last year and Anthony Dattolo finished second at 149-pounds in 2012. As a team, Wilkes finished 27th in the tournament. Hartenstine, the third seed in the tournament, made his way through to the semifinals with two decision wins in the opening round (7-1) and quarterfinals (1-0) setting up a matchup with second seeded Ryan Prater of Elmhurst. Hartenstine would fall in the semifinal bout by pin (5:26) moving into the consolation bracket of the tournament. He opened the consolations with a 13-9 decision victory over Elroy Perkin of Wisconsin Whitewater advancing to the third place bout against a similar opponent in Delaware Valley's Vincent Fava. The two met in the semifinals of the East Regional two weeks earlier with Hartenstine edging out Fava 3-2. This time around Fava earned the 3-1 decision win as Hartenstine settled for fourth place in the tournament. It marks the first All-American status for Hartenstine who finishes his season with a 41-3 record, a school record for wins in a single season. Print Friendly Version
