Although Wilkes held a nine to six hits advantage, Manchester used some timely hitting on way to the win. A two-run single followed by an RBI double did most of the damage in the five-run seventh for Manchester. Tom Ring (Massapequa Park, NY/St. John the Baptist) singled home AJ Mihaly in the Wilkes' seventh to put the Colonels on the board. Deep Patel (Dallas, PA/Dallas) connected on an RBI double in the ninth and Ring added a sacrifice fly in the final frame to lead the Wilkes offense. Patrick Condo (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer) started and went 5.2 innings recording the loss giving up just two hits and one earned run. Johnny Jan Jr., Marcus Leaf (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic), Forrest Jordan (Sullivan County, PA/Sullivan County) and Matt Kaster (Traben-Trabach, Germany/Crestwood) all pitched in relief in the game. Wilkes returns to play Monday with a doubleheader against Grove City College starting at 2:00 p.m. Print Friendly Version
