Wilkes improves to 2-0 on the year following the double-digit victory. Houghton evens its mark at 1-1 after the loss. Wilkes wasted little time taking the advantage scoring 13 unanswered goals in the first half. Carley Smith (York, PA/Dallastown) got the scoring started with an unassisted goal at the 25:47 mark of the first half. Ford added her first of the afternoon one minute later followed by her second at the 19:38 mark as Wilkes led 3-0. Tori Kerr (Beacon, NY/Beacon) added four goals and Smith cashed in three more times to push the Lady Colonel lead to 10-0 with 9:37 left in the half. Madeleine Brownsey (Glenside, PA/St. Basil Academy) scored two more times before the halftime horn sounded giving Wilkes a 13-0 lead at the break. Houghton opened the scoring in the second frame with an unassisted goal four minutes in. After another Houghton score, Ford added two more goals over the next ten minutes to seal the victory for the Lady Colonels. Morgan Galluzzo (New London, NH/Kearsarge Regional) recorded the win in net finishing with eight saves playing all 60 minutes. Carly Congilosi made eight stops in goal for Houghton in the defeat. Wilkes outshot Houghton 36-18 while claiming 14 draw controls to Houghton's 12. Wilkes also held a 24-11 advantage in ground balls. The Lady Colonels did an excellent job of clearing the ball as well finishing 15-of-20 in clearing attempts in the contest.
