WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS COMPLETES PERFECT FREEDOM SEASON WITH 9-0 WIN OVER KING'S

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team wrapped up Freedom Conference play unbeaten after posting a 9-0 victory over cross-town rival King's College Wednesday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

Wilkes moves to 14-2 overall and concludes conference play a perfect 6-0. Wilkes will enter the Freedom Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed in two weeks.

Wilkes grabbed a 3-0 lead after doubles play before sweeping all six singles flights. Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle), the school's all-time leader in singles wins (72), began singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 1. Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep) followed with a 2-6, 6-2, 10-5 win at No. 2 while Taylor Hoffman went 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 to clinch the match for the Lady Colonels.

Anastasia English (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake), Amanda Rossi (Fogelsville, PA/Parkland) and Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) rounded out the Wilkes singles winners all in straight set fashion.

Wilkes returns to the court Monday hosting Marywood University at 1:00 p.m. on Senior Day at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
