Wilkes sees its overall record move to 11-17 on the year and stands 6-12 in Freedom Conference games. FDU-Florham is 16-10 on the year following the split and 12-6 in league games. Deep Patel (Dallas, PA/Dallas) led the Colonels bats in game one as Wilkes exploded for 18 hits and 16 runs in the victory. Patel finished 3-for-5 with four RBI's including three one-run singles in the game. After taking a 3-0 lead after two innings, Wilkes posted five runs in the fourth, two runs in the fifth and put the game away in the six with six more tallies. Ryan Herbst (East Islip, NY/St. John the Baptist) capped off the scoring tear in the sixth with his second collegiate homerun, a two-run shot to center field. Johnny Jan Jr. (Germantown, MD/Northwest) recorded the win on the mound going 5.2 innings allowing 10 hits and four runs throughout while striking out three FDU-Florham batters. Wilkes took an early lead in game two up 1-0 after the first when Herbst grounded out to second base scoring Jan Jr. on the play. From there the Colonel defense came up short with seven errors leading to eight unearned FDU-Florham runs. The Devils scored six in the fifth and took the lead in the sixth with four more runs, all coming on Wilkes miscues in the field. Both teams managed just three this each in the game combining for nine errors in the field. Travis Crider (Tower City, PA/Williams Valley) recorded the loss for Wilkes walking to batters in the sixth which led to FDU-Florham taking the lead in the frame.
