The 11th win for the Lady Colonels is a program best for a single season as they now stand at 11-2 and 3-2 in the Freedom Conference. Misericordia falls to 6-8 on the year and 3-2 in the Freedom Conference. Wilkes opened up the game on a 5-0 lead and didn't allow Misericordia to score until there was 13:09 remaining in the first half. Madeleine Brownsey (Glenside, PA/St. Basil Academy), Gabby Ford (Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka), Tori Kerr (Beacon, NY/Beacon), Sara Gilbert (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) and Carley Smith (York, PA/Dallastown) all scored goals for the Lady Colonels, with Ford contributing two assists during the run. Erin Baker made in 5-1 Wilkes, before Ford scored two more goals and Kerr another as Wilkes extended their lead to 8-1 with 3:16 remaining in the first half. Liz Mulvey scored two unassisted goals to cut the deficit to 8-3 as the first half whistle came to an end. Wilkes outshot Misericordia 23-9 in the half while committing only seven turnovers. The Cougars started the scoring in the second half when Mulvey made it 8-4 on an unassisted goal. Smith responded quikly for Wilkes scoring :22 seconds later to make it 9-4 Lady Colonels advantage. Baker scored her second of the game for Misericordia before Kerr and Smith scored back-to-back goals just :13 seconds apart. With Wilkes up 12-6 Mulvey scored twice and Baker once as the Cougars made it a 12-9 contest with 14:50 remaining in the game. Brownsey scored a goal on the man advantage, while Ford and Smith scored unassisted goal extending the Wilkes lead to 15-9 with 4:31 left in the game. Brooke North made it 15-10 before Wilkes put the game away with three straight goals over the final four minutes of the game. Wilkes outshot Misericordia 45-23 for the game, picked up 26 ground balls and won the draw controls by a tally of 19-11. Ford led Wilkes with eight points on five goals and three assists. Smith had a seven-point game as she scored five goals and assisted on two others. Kerr and Brownsey each scored three goals a piece. Morgan Galluzzo (New London, NH/Kearsarge Regional) picked up the win for Wilkes as she made eight stops in goal. Mulvey led the Cougars with five goals and two assists while Baker scored four goals. Wilkes returns to action on Saturday when they host Eastern University in their season finale. Wilkes will honor their senior's before the game in what will be a playoff contention battle.
