Wilkes improves to 13-17 on the year following the win while Scranton drops to 9-15 overall.

After Scranton took an early 1-0 lead after two innings, Wilkes responded in the bottom of the third with back-to-back singles from James Brown (Covington, PA/North Pocono) and Stephen Ruch (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer). Ryan Herbst (East Islip, NY/St. John the Baptist) then plated all three runs with a home run over the big blue monster in left field putting Wilkes ahead 3-1 after three.

Scranton tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the fourth using a bases-loaded walk and Wilkes miscue at second base to plate the two runs. The Royals took the advantage back two batters later using a two-run single to left field to take a 5-3 lead.

Wilkes began its second comeback in the seventh down 6-3. Zac Berg led off the inning with a single to center followed by a double from Schappell. Brown connected on an RBI single to left field to plate Berg cutting the deficit to 6-4. Ruch followed with an RBI single to left field plating Schappell making it 6-5.

The comeback was complete when pinch hitter Dan Pisanchyn (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) hit a ground-rule double over the center field wall scoring Deep Patel (Dallas, PA/Dallas) who doubled earlier in the inning. Schappell gave Wilkes the lead one batter later hitting the RBI single to right field as the Colonels led 7-6 heading into the ninth.

Matt Kaster (Traben-Trabach, Germany/Crestwood) pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his fourth save of the season.

Brown led the offense finishing 4-for-4 with two doubles, while Schappell added two hits in the win.
