Wilkes slips to 13-18 overall and 6-13 in league games following the loss. Bobby Schappel led off the game with a single up the middle and later scored the Colonels lone run of the game when Dan Pisanchyn (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) singled down the right field line. Misericordia tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first then rode starter Ryan Dorosh over the next seven innings to secure the victory. A three-run homer from shortstop Kyle Seawards in the fifth broke open a 3-1 game giving the Cougars a 6-1 advantage they would never relinquish. Dorosh went eight innings allowing the one run on four hits striking out five Colonel batters. Johnny Jan Jr. (Germantown, MD/Northwest) went 6.2 innings for Wilkes allowing seven hits and six runs (four earned). Four different Colonels reached the hit column including Schappell, Pisanchyn, Stephen Ruch (Dallas, PA/Holy Redeemer) and Marcus Leaf (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic).
