WILKES MEN'S TENNIS STAYS PERFECT WITH 9-0 VICTORY OVER EASTERN

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team pushed its unbeaten streak to ten straight following a 9-0 blanking of visiting Eastern University Saturday after in Freedom Conference play at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

The Colonels remained atop the league with a 3-0 mark after the win.

All three Wilkes doubles teams posted victories allowing just three games throughout the three matches. The Parfianowicz brothers moved to 13-2 on the year following an 8-1 win at No. 1 pairs. Steven Wilson (Bronx, NY/JFK) and Alex Makos (Mansfield, PA/Mansfield) improved to 14-2 on the season after posting an 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles. The duo of Michael Kranz (Depew, NY/Lancaster Central) and Brendon Blachowski (Newtown, PA /Council Rock North) continued to dominate at No. 3 doubles pushing their season mark to 15-1 following an 8-2 victory.

All six Wilkes singles flights posted straight set wins including Wilson's 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 1.

Wilkes returns to action Tuesday with a 3:30 matchup with cross-town rival King's College at the Kirby Park courts.
