Wilkes is a perfect 2-0 in Freedom play, while King's falls to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.King's opened the scoring when Gabrielle Morrocu put the Lady Monarchs up 1-0 with an unassisted goal three minutes into the game. Wilkes responded two minutes later with Gabby Ford (Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka) scoring the tying goal and within the next three minutes Tori Kerr (Beacon, NY/Beacon) scored two goals off of assists from Carley Smith (York, PA/Dallastown) to put Wilkes up 3-1 with 21:34 to go in the first half. King's tied the score at 3-3 when Catherine McMahon and Amanda Harney scored unassisted goals over a seven minute span. After King's scored twice to tie the game, Wilkes rattled off five straight goals putting them up 8-3 with 5:04 to play in the half. Sara Gilbert (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) scored the go ahead goal with 12:12 remaining in the first 30 minutes of play. Madeleine Brownsey (Glenside, PA/St. Basil Academy) scored along with Ford during the stretch and Smith knotted two goals of her own for the Lady Colonels. King's cut the lead to 8-5 before Brownsey scored her second goal of the game with :24 seconds remaining in the half to put Wilkes up 9-5 as they went to the break.The Lady Colonels opened up the second half scoring two goals as Brownsey and Smith tallied their third goal of the game. Wilkes extended their lead to 14-6 with 22:24 remaining in the game as Ally Bisecki, Smith and Kerr all scored goals. With the lead at 16-8 Wilkes rattled off the next seven goals of the game and went on to win comfortably 23-8. The 23 goals is a season high for the 2014 season.Smith scored 10 points on the day (6 G, 4 A), Brownsey chipped in with seven points (5 G, 2 A) and Kerr knotted six points (5 G, 1 A). Morgan Galluzo allowed eight goals and made four saves in the net for the Lady Colonels. As a team Wilkes dominated the shooting stats as they outshot King's 48-18. King's turned the ball over 28 times compared to Wilkes 16 and Wilkes held a slight advantage in draw controls 19-14.The Lady Colonels will look to extend their record to a perfect 10-0 when they host Freedom Conference foe FDU-Florham on Wednesday afternoon.
