WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS REMAINS PERFECT IN FREEDOM PLAY WITH 8-1 WIN OVER EASTERN

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team took two of three in doubles play before sweeping all six singles flights on way to an 8-1 victory over visiting Eastern University Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

Wilkes improves to 11-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 atop the Freedom Conference following the win.

The pairs of Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep)/Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland) and Amanda Rossi (Fogelsville, PA/Parkland)/Olivia Hewison (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley) gave Wilkes a 2-1 lead following doubles play thanks to 8-4 and 8-2 wins respectively from the No. 2 and 3 positions.

Ally Kristofco (Hollidaysburg, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) moved to 11-3 on the year at No. 1 singles after posting a 6-1, 6-2 win. Croker followed with a 2-6, 6-2, 10-8 victory at No. 2 before Anastasia English (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) clinched the match for Wilkes with a straight set 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4.

Wilkes returns to the courts Wednesday traveling to Misericordia University for a Freedom Conference match scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Dallas, Pa.
