WILKES WOMEN'S TENNIS CRUISES TO FREEDOM FINAL WITH 5-0 WIN OVER EASTERN

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team posted a 5-0 victory over Eastern University in the Freedom Conference semifinals moving the Lady Colonels into the Freedom title match for the eighth consecutive year Thursday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

Wilkes moves to 17-2 overall following the win and will face second seed King's College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Ralston tennis courts. The Lady Colonels are looking for their eighth straight conference crown.

Wilkes wasted little time capturing its semifinal match against the visiting Eagles grabbing a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland) and Anastasia English (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) clinched the match win 6-0, 6-1 wins at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively in singles play.
