ALBRIGHT SCORES EARLY, FENDS OFF MEN'S SOCCER FOR 1-0 WIN

ALLENTOWN, PA – Albright's Austin Phillips scored 3:21 into the game and despite several near misses the Colonels were not able to score the tying goal as Wilkes fell 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Wilkes falls to 1-3 on the year while Albright improves to 2-0-1.

Phillips scored his second goal of the season in the 4^th minute of the match off an assist from Vitali Zaluha. Abdullah Albannay (Kuwait City, Kuwait/Abdullah Jaber) smacked the crossbar shortly after the Albright for the Colonels as the score at halftime remained 1-0 Albright.

Colonels Eric McAnena (Horsham, PA/Abington) got robbed of the tying goal in the 75^th minute when his free kick clanged the crossbar and bounced out to the 18 with no Colonels able to pounce on the rebound.

Wilkes was outshot 12-10 for the game and out cornered 6-4.

The Navy and Gold return to action tomorrow when they travel to Reading to take on Alvernia College at noon.
