Steve Finkernagel Softball 3/4/2015 5:27:00 PM Wilkes Softball Splits Pair of Games on Third Day of Spring Break Trip Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Wilkes Softball Splits Pair of Games on Third Day of Spring Break Trip MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Wilkes University softball team split a pair of games on its third day of its spring break trip in Myrtle Beach. The Lady Colonels posted a 7-1 win over Rosemont College in its opening game before falling 1-0 in a pitching duel against Neumann in game two of the day. Wilkes moves to 3-3 overall after three days of play on the trip. Emily McGrath (Upper Darby, PA/Drexel Hill) and Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) led the offense in the six-run win over Rosemont. McGrath finished 2-for-4 with two RBI's while Paskas added two hits including a two-run triple. Christina Gambino (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) recorded the win in the circle with Nicole Cumbo (Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) receiving the save pitching the final three innings of the contest. The game against Neumann went scoreless through the first six innings before the Knights squeaked out the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Kim Jones (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) suffered the loss in the circle for Wilkes only allowing four hits through seven innings of work. The Lady Colonels left three runners at third base and Neumann used two double plays to get out of jams throughout the Wilkes at-bats.
