FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) continued his brilliant run through the ITA Southeast Regional Championship Tournament, the farthest a Wilkes player has ever advanced, with another upset win in the quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon.
 
Murphy posted a 7-6(6), 3-6, 6-3 victory over number two seed Daniel Levine of Carnegie Mellon in the quarterfinals to move into the next round of the tournament. A match prior, Murphy beat Austin Gu 6-4, 6-0 in the round of 16.
 
On Saturday Murphy, unseeded, began the day with an upset win over ninth seeded Vayum Arora of Carnegie Mellon before posting a straight set 6-2, 6-1 win in the round of 32 draw to move into the round of 16.
 
Murphy will look to continue his run with a semifinal matchup against another nationally ranked player at 10:15 a.m. tomorrow (Monday).
