Wilkes Men's Tennis Suffers First Loss of Season at Haverford
HAVERFORD, PA – Host Haverford College scored a 6-3 victory over Wilkes University handing the Colonels their first loss of the season on Saturday night.
Wilkes drops to 11-1 overall following the loss while Haverford improves to
Haverford jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles with the lone pairs Wilkes win coming at No. 2 from
Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) and
Adam Lefkandinos (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) 8-4.
Wilkes took both No. 1 and No. 2 singles with wins from Murphy and
Max Appello (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) before the hosts garnered wins at No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 to seal the match.
Wilkes remains idle until March 28 when the Colonels travel to Ursinus College for a match at 4:00 p.m.
