EDWARDSVILLE/BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team used a split squad in a two-match day Sunday as the Colonels posted a 9-0 victory at home over Rutgers-Camden before falling 6-3 at Division II Bloomsburg University.
 
With the split, Wilkes moves to 19-2 overall on the season heading into the final week of the regular season of play.
 
Wilkes went 3-0 in doubles before sweeping all six singles match in the home win against Rutgers-Camden. Brian Murray (Brooklyn, NY/Leon M. Goldstein), Arytom Nabokin, Andrew Neidig (Matamoras, PA/Delaware Valley), Collin Strunk (Blakeslee, PA/Pocono Mountain West), Braddock Chow (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) and Jonathan White (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) all were singles winners for the Colonels in straight sets.
 
In the loss at Bloomsburg, the host Huskies went up 2-1 after doubles play. Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) and Adam Lefkandinos (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) paired for the lone Wilkes win at No. 2 doubles.
 
From there, Bloomsburg went on to win four of the six singles flights to secure the victory, just the second on the season for Wilkes. Murphy and Troy Haas (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) were the winners in singles play for Wilkes at No. 1 and No. 6 respectfully.
 
Wilkes hosts Moravian College on Friday in a non-conference match at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
